This week my guest is Mark Andreas. Mark grew up in Boulder, Colorado, in a household where NLP and personal transformation were the daily conversation. His parents, Steve and Connirae Andreas, were pioneers in the field — and Mark did not just observe their work. He absorbed it, trained in it formally, and eventually became one of its lead teachers. NLP Practitioner in 2006, Master Practitioner in 2008, Trainer in 2009 — and a private coaching practice with over 1,000 clients since. He co-teaches internationally alongside Connirae and Tamara Andreas, and co-designed and co-leads the Core Transformation Coach Certification program.

This wide-ranging interview includes:

  • 02m40s: How Mark got into NLP (note: his parents are NLP thought leaders and developers of many great processes, Steve and Connirae Andreas)
  • 05m40s: How working with troubled teens as a wilderness therapy instructor has informed Mark’s NLP practice
  • 08m49s: How NLP and more particularly Core Transformation can help if you get angry with someone you love, sometimes much quicker than you were expecting.
  • 12m50s: Mark describes Core Transformation
  • 15m40s: The steps you go through in the Core Transformation process
  • 20m30s: Core states of being, and how Core Transformation enables you to connect with them at any time, without elaborate preparation or rituals – so avoiding ‘spiritual bypass’
  • 21m25s: What makes Core Transformation different from standard NLP parts work
  • 30m37s: The importance of contextualising change to the wider life of the client, future pacing, and re-evaluating the past in the light of the change, and why Steve Andreas was so precise when he described how to conduct an NLP process
  • 33m26s: The principle of no force
  • 35m32s: In Core Transformation, there is no resistance
  • 38m19s: How Core Transformation training and certification is structured, and when the next one (in 2026) is coming up
  • 43m17s: Peer-reviewed research into Core Transformation!
  • 46m56s: Core Transformation versus Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Core Transformation gets results much quicker)
  • 48m52s: What ‘transdiagnostic’ means (this was a new one on me)

… and much more!
